We are proud to announce the opening of our new online store with Yahoo!

Our tasting room hours in February-December are Saturdays 11-5, Sundays 1-5. Come by and taste our new releases of honey wine and our wonderful honey.

Beekman & Beekman was featured May 5th at the American Center for Wine, Food and the Arts (COPIA) www.copia.org which recently opened in Napa, California. Honey, wine and cooking demonstrations featured Matt and Ann Beekman. Several varieties of honey were used during Matt's cooking demonstration as he prepared chicken, tomato and apple dishes. The audience tasted each dish and Beekman & Beekman Honey Wine was served with dessert. We were pleased to be a part of this wonderful concept at COPIA. You must visit COPIA soon!

Our Day at COPIA
Our day started with the checking of the bees in the Copia gardens with Jeff Dawson, Curator of the Gardens (see top picture at right). A frame of bees (picture second at right) was placed in an observation hive for participants to observe during the two programs that would be presented.

After Ann Beekman's presentation in the morning in the Meyer Food Forum, Copia staff continued tastings in the lobby throughout the day (demo cart pictured third at right).

During Matt's cooking demonstration, it was easy to see what he was doing by viewing the numerous monitors around the room (pictured fourth at right). Matt thoroughly enjoyed cooking at Copia. Matt is pictured in the fifth picture at right. All three of the dishes he prepared were well received (see recipes). We want to thank the staff at COPIA for the wonderful support and outstanding service. It was such a pleasure to "bee" a small part of COPIA'S innovative concept. COPIA is destined to become a national treasure!

Back at Beekman & Beekman
We continue to receive visitors at the tasting room from all over the world. We love the comments about the room's ambiance and the fabulous response to the honey and wine. Wine and honey tastes are still available Saturdays and Sunday (not holidays) 11-5, the tasting room is pictured below in the first two photos. The lavender will start blooming soon. Watch for the releases of Beekman & Beekman Tupelo and Blackberry Honey Wines.

No honey education session would be complete without meeting the workers; the worker bees that is! The bottom right picture shows Bruce Beekman explaining the various components of a frame from a hive of bees.

On March 23, 2001, Beekman and Beekman hosted Chef Mani Niall, who is the chef-spokesperson for the National Honey Board, in an effort to provide him with first hand information regarding pure varietal honey and various beekeeping practices. We tasted several pure varietal honeys to demonstrate the diversity of their tastes, color and potential culinary applications.

It was an absolute pleasure meeting Mani and the Beekmans wish him the very best as he educates the culinary world about the uniqueness, variety and quality of pure varietal honeys. We always welcome the opportunity to support the National Honey Board in their effort to promote honey's wonderful qualities.

Beekman and Beekman was showcased on the TV show California Heartland in November. Please visit www.californiaheartland.com to read about it and view a small excerpt.
